Blogger Fail

And here we have it. It has been 40 days since I posted last. Any previous hopes or dreams I may have had about growing into a blogger have been crushed by reality. I should have first looked at my track record of journal keeping (abysmal) and photographing big events (sketchy, at best) before committing to blog weekly. In my industry we often say, "If it isn't documented, it didn't happen." I'm not sure if that really applies to me and my ability to document my life... and I'm also not sure I'm willing to go down that rabbit hole right now... But that's definitely a thought to ponder later, when we don't have a mile-long to-do list.

COFFEE and LOVE

Last week Tim and I had an errand to run before work. We got back to the house later than expected. We were both exhausted and all I wanted was a cup of coffee before starting the teleconference that I had to run in less than 10 minutes. As I measured out the coffee, I heard the air-conditioning unit and refrigerator both click off. The light over the stove turned off. We had lost power. As I scrambled upstairs to figure out how to run my meeting without power, Tim headed out the door. And came back from our neighborhood coffee shop with a steaming cup of coffee for me. The most thoughtful guy ever....LOVE.

Dirtbike Metaphors for Life, from a DB Newbie. Part I.

On my 32nd birthday we
picked strawberries
and bought me pink
motocross boots
I never thought I would learn to ride a dirtbike at 32. Or at all. Ever. Seriously. I didn't know what to make of it when Tim pulled up one night followed by a tow truck carrying his brand new bike. He didn't have a dirtbike when we met or for the two years we dated before this fateful night. He may have mentioned in passing how much fun he had when younger and riding... but I had no clue it was still in him. All I could see when he came home that night was that he was ecstatic. Grinning from ear to ear. So, I told him I was really happy for him and watched the bike get settled into it's new home. I pretty much thought I was done thinking about it.

Where to Stay? The Latham, Philadelphia, PA

Hello Friends and Family,
We are very happy to announce that we have blocked rooms for our out of town guests (or those just looking to spend the night in this beautiful space!) at The Latham Hotel on 17th and Walnut.  Not only is this hotel breath-taking, but one of our good friends, John Byrns, is the General Manager. We know our guests will be in good hands here!

4 months... and counting!

Rain or shine...but we'll take shine.
Tim and I had an amazing 3 day trip this past weekend. We packed up Friday afternoon and went up to our favorite new spot to ride (about 2 hours north). As we pulled up, a storm was rolling out, so we waited it out in the van for a few minutes before stepping out to a wonderfully cool late afternoon ride.
